At this time there are over 100 seniors who will not be walking at graduation due to a hold. Please check outside Ms. Farmer’s room B210 to see if you owe money. All holds must be cleared in order to walk.

Attention JUNIORS. Anyone interested in running for Senior Class officers should see Ms. Bentley for an application. All applications are due on Monday,  May 7.

The Cross Country information meeting is Tuesday after school in Coach Fowler's room, B217. Workouts will begin Thursday! If you cannot make the meeting, please see Coach Fowler, Coach Jones or Coach Crawford.

All Media Center materials, including student laptops and books, need to be returned to the Media Center by Wednesday, May 9th.

LADIES!!! Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?! The Lithia Springs Football Team will host the 2nd Annual Seniors vs the underclassmen Powder Puff Game. The game will be played next Friday, May 11th during last block. Ladies interested in playing should pick up a permission/information form from Coach Hill or Coach Philidor and submit it by Friday, May 4.

Volleyball Free Play in the New Gym begins May 7th through May 15th from 4:00-6:00. Spring tryouts are May 16th and 17th from 4:00 to 6:00. Players must have a current physical on file or must bring the valid physical to tryouts. Also, players should bring knee pads to tryouts.

Upcoming seniors for the Class of 2019 can order senior jerseys from May 1-May 18 with Mr. Gaiters in C108. Payment is cash or money orders ONLY.  Orders forms are located online and in the cafeteria.

Josten's will return one final time during all five lunch on Friday, May 4.

Senior holds must be cleared before graduation in order to walk.  See the lists posted outside Ms. Farmer's room, B210, for seniors who have holds.

Tryouts for the 2018 Softball season will be held on Monday, May 7th through Friday, May 11th from 4:00 pm - 6:30pm at the LSHS softball field. Players will need a valid physical and proper softball attire to tryout. See Coach Sheperd in the New Gym if there are questions.

Seniors:  Jostens will return one more time on Friday, May 4, for graduation supplies delivery. They will be in the cafeteria during all five lunches.

Congratulations to our track team for their performance at the region championships! Athletes who scored in at least one event are: Contessa W., Taylor M., Amari D., Shanice M., Huhlay W., Desmonique M., Ben J., Demetrious V., Jordan F. and Seth S.

Advancing to State Sectionals on Saturday, April 28 are: Josh L., Kofi S., and Amir O.. Advancing AND Region Champions are William J. in the long jump and the boys 4 x 100 relay team of Sameer M., Symeon R., Emmanuel O. and William J.

On Thursday, April 26, wear purple to honor and support the children of our military families.

The Douglas County Career Ready Training program is designed for seniors who are interested in beginning a career and pursuing advanced training while working. See Ms. Isles-Towry in H101 for an application. Or, download the information flyer. Completed packets must be submitted by Friday, May 4th.

A Lion’s Roar and Congratulations to Mr. Williams’ and Ms. Pascal's students who were fearless at the Special Olympics yesterday! The students received ribbons in all events including the long jump, 50 and 100 meter sprints and speed walking.

Any student who is interested in being a student trainer or football manager must see Ms. Vinsant before this Friday, April 13.

Percussion and Guard auditions are this week from 5-8pm. There is a $20 non-refundable audition fee. See Mr. Gaiters for more information.

Dance team tryout conditioning dates will be Mon-Wed April 16th-18th from 4:00-7:00pm. Tryout is Thursday, April 19th at 4:30. To sign up, see Mrs. Pascal in A-208.

All 2018-19 LSHS Cheerleaders should pick up a fundraising packet from Ms. Walker. The first parent meeting is on April 23rd at 6:30 in the cafeteria.

For the 18-19 season, the play production class will present MADAGASCAR THE MUSICAL, George Orwell's 1984, and a mystery dinner theatre. Please see Mrs. Edwards in C-101 by Friday for an application packet.

Jostens will be in the cafeteria on April 24th during all five lunches. Seniors may purchase their cap and gown at this time.

Juniors who would like to order 2019 senior jerseys can purchase them from May 1st to May 18th with Mr. Gaiters in C108. Cash and money order only will be accepted. Order forms are located on the LSHS website and in the cafeteria.

Seniors who want their college/military plans included in the graduation ceremony program MUST turn in the acceptance letter to their counselor by Friday, April 13. In addition, seniors who turn in the acceptance letter will be invited to the Senior Signing Day Party.

Senior artwork should be submitted to Mr. Couch by Monday, April 16.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY, LSHS Theatre Troupe's spring musical, is scheduled for April 19-21. The Thursday and Friday plays begin at 7:00 PM; the Saturday plays are 3:00 and 7:00 PM.  Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for high school and younger.  See Mrs. Edwards in C101 to purchase tickets.

LSHS Dance Team tryouts are coming in April.  Conditioning dates will be Mon-Wed April 16-18, 4 PM-7PM.  To sign up, see Ms. Pascal in A208.

FLO Club is sponsoring a Hat Day this Friday (March 30).  Purchase hat sticker in cafeteria on Friday from 8:00-8:25.

Josten's will be in the cafeteria during all five lunches on Thursday, March 29 to collect class ring deposits.  Down payment is $50.00.  Cash or money orders only!

Thursday, March 29 is senior class picture and senior picnic.  Meet Ms. Miller on the football field at 3:55 wearing black tshirt.  The senior picnic follows immediately afterward in the New Gym.  In order to participate, senior dues must be paid and seniors must have student id to be admitted.

El jueves 29 de marzo es la foto de la clase de “senior” y del picnic. Reúnanse con la Sra. Miller en el campo de fútbol a las 3:55 con la camiseta negra. Seniors, all scholarships are available at @LSHS_Counselors on Instagram and Twitter, the LSHS website on the "Lithia Springs High School Counselors" page.  Please stay up to date as there are new local scholarships coming in daily.

Seniors who would like to be showcased for their college or military acceptance should bring their acceptance letter to their counselor.  Their name and college/military choice will be added to our Farewell Seniors bulletin board.

Congratulations to our History Lions who participated in the Regional Competition of National History Day at Kennesaw State Unversity!  Hugo P. won 3rd place with his exhibit entry entitled "Morality vs. Duty:  The Desmond Doss Story". Three of our students, Hugo P., AJ R., and Bryan K., will advance to the state level level at Mercer University in late April.

A Lion's Roar to the boys and girls track team for their performance at the Atlanta Games this weekend. Competing again thirty two teams, several LSHS athletes made the top ten and scored in at least one event.  Shanice M., Sameer M, and Seth S. finished 3rd place in their events and William J. scored a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finish.  Support our track team this Thursday in the only home meet of the season as we host Douglas County High School and Decatur.

LSHS Dance Team will present a Multi-Cultural Extravaganza.  Sign up in the cafeteria during all five lunch or see Ms. Pascal in A208.

Key Club is making dog toys for the Humane Society.  Please donate old t-shirts to room C104 by Monday, March 19.

AP Exam registration deadline is March 6th.  Register now to avoid late fees.

Youth Leadership Douglas is a six week leadership training grounded in community awareness, community service and developing your potential to lead.  See Ms. Isles in H101 for an application or see the LSHS Latest News item with a link to the application.  Deadline to apply is Friday, March 16.

Rachel's Challenge Club is hosting an LSHS March for Our Lives Assembly.  The planning meeting is Wednesday, March 7 at 4:30 in Mr. Isham's room, B204.

Senior art students can submit artwork to Mr. Couch until April 15th in the form of photography, drawing, painting or sculpting. Two pieces of art will be purchased and displayed by the LSHS Art Committee - the 1st place winner will receive $100, 2nd place winner $75. The two winner’s artwork will also be on display in the school with a special recognition display on Honors Night, May 8th. The deadline is April 15th. For more information, see Mr. Couch.

Support Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society by making a $1.00 donation for your selfie to be featured in the yearbook.  Key Club members will take donations during FLEX and in the cafeteria during all five lunches.

Ladies who are interested in joining the cheerleadering team for 2018-2019 should attend an interest meeting on Thursday, March 1 at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.  See Ms. Walker in A2017 for additional information.

The final Apply to CCI night for 18-19 is Thursday, March 15 from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at the CCI.  For additional information, see Ms. Boyer in the middle office.

Important Dates for Sophomores.

Sophomores will meet in auditorium on March 22 at 8:30 AM for a presentation about class ring orders.  On March 29, Jostens will be in the cafeteria during all 5 lunches to take class ring orders for rising juniors (Class of 2020).  For additional information, contact Petrina Warren through email.

Congratulations to the girls basketball team for their 2018 AAAAA Region 6 Championship in a thrilling last minute come from behind style! The girls defeated #2 seeded Decatur Bulldogs 50-47 on Friday night in the semi finals. On championship Saturday, our Lady Lions beat top seed Maynard Jackson 54 to 51 to claim the title. In what can only be described as total team efforts, these ladies have truly become champions. Please congratulate these young student athletes. They represented LSHS with class, pride, and dignity! Congratulations to our Science Lions whose projects advanced to the State Science & Engineering Fair in Athens on March 22-24!  Hope L., Afrah A., Alex B., Savannah R., Chase C., and Nick G. will compete with other high school scientists for state wide recognition of their science projects. The following students are not advancing to state but did receive Honorable Mention and Special Awards in their categories:  Tiffany and Tyler N. and Jaylin B.

Congratulations to our Lady Basketball Lions who are returning to the semifinals of the state tournament for the 4th year in a row after a 59-44 victory over Banneker last night!  Adoara O. led the offensive with 13 points; Demeara H. scored 12 and Sheryl S. added 11. The semifinal game will be at LSHS at 4:00 PM on Friday against the 2nd seeded Decatur Lady Bulldogs.  

A Lion's Roar to Lady Lions Demeara H. who was voted to 1st Team All-Region and to Sheryl S. who was voted to the 2nd Team All-Region!  

Spanish Honor Society is sponsoring Cupcake Love.  For $2.00 each, students can order vanilla or chocolate cupcakes with red or pink icing.  See a Spanish Honor Society member or Sra. Haynes in B204 to order by Monday, Feb. 12.

A Lion’s Roar and congratulations to the Varsity Boys’ soccer team who defeated New Manchester by a score of 6-1. Highlights from the game were Adrian G. with three goals and one assist; Jose G. with one goal, four assists; Levi M. and Oswaldo P. with one goal each and Dominic O. with one assist. Jose P. had four saves on the night. Man of the Match goes to Adrian G. with four goals.

The National Honor Society at LSHS is offering scholarships to any 11th or 12th grade student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The application is online only. For additional important details, see the NHS Scholarship page on the LSHS website that includes a necessary QR code.

Congratulations to the Lady Lions basketball team for their 3rd place region finish in the regular season!  The Lady Lions have won 10 of their last 11 games to finish the season at 14-9 (11-3 in region play).  The next game is Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 7:00 PM in the 2nd round of the region tournament.  A win will send the girls back to the state tournament for the 4th consecutive year. Congratulations to the boys basketball team who beat Grady 61-46! Anthony H. led the way with 29 points. Their record is 13-9 and they will play in the Region Tournament at home this Wednesday at 5:30. Come out and cheer on the Lions. See our photo album on the LSHS Facebook page.  

Congratulations to our Wrestling Lions Cameron B. and ThyKing M. who will represent LSHS at Macon in the state championships on Feb. 8, 9, 10! See our photos on the LSHS Facebook page.

Congratulations to our boy's soccer team who defeated Chapel Hill by a score of 4-0!  The boy's soccer team will play New Manchester on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 7:00 PM; the girl's soccer team also plays New Manchester at 5:30 PM.

The College and Career Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in the cafeteria.  Representatives from universities, careers fields and the military will be present.  Students in the grade level with the highest particiation will receive a prize.

¡Felicitaciones al equipo femenino de baloncesto de “Lady Lions” por su tercer lugar en nivel región en la temporada regular! Las Lady Lions han ganado 10 de sus últimos 11 partidos para terminar la temporada con 14-9 (11-3 en la región). El próximo juego es el miércoles 7 de febrero a las 7:00 p.m. en la segunda ronda del torneo de la región. Una victoria enviará a las chicas de regreso al torneo estatal por cuarto años consecutivos. ¡Apoye a nuestras Lady Lions en el nuevo gimnasio el miércoles!

Congratulations to Naomi D., STAR student for 17-18, and to Ms. Payton Millinor, STAR teacher for 17-18! The STAR Program recognizes the high school senior who has the highest SAT score in their graduating class. The STAR Teacher is selected by the STAR Student for having made the most significant contribution to the STAR Student's scholastic development.

A big Lion's roar goes to our Lady Lions basketball team with their 59-30 victory over North Springs! Sheryl S. led the scoring with 14 points, followed by Demera H. with 12 points, and D'Asia J. and Amira W. who each added eight points.

The Pinata raffle drawing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 1 in the cafeteria at 12:15.  See Sra. Haynes in B204 to purchase a ticket for $1.00.

Congratulations to our semi-finalists for the Governor's Honors Program!  Blair C. (Math), Nick G. (Engineering) and Daniel K. (Brass Instrumental Music) will move to the final interview/audition process at Berry College on Feb. 24.

The wrestling Lions will move on to the State Sectionals next weekend after the following performances: 4th Place finishers were: Andrew M., Caleb T. and Jesse B. 3rd Place finishers were: Calvin S., Austin R., ThyKing M. and Daniel J. 2nd Place finishers were Cameron B. and Sheldon M. Congratulations and Good Luck next weekend!

The Lady Lions basketball had a big region win against Decatur with a score of 49 to 29. Amira W. and Adaora O. scored 12 pts each. Jordynn W. added 11 and Sheryl S. added 9. 

The Lions’ men basketball team improved to 12 and 7 with a 51 to 50 win over Decatur. Anthony H. was the high scorer with 25 points. Support our team tomorrow night for Senior Night against Riverwood at 6:00 in the new gym for the last home game of the season.

The Sadie Hawkins Dance is Saturday, Feb. 3rd. Ladies, ask your favorite guy to the dance. The ticket cost is $25/couple. Tickets go on sale Monday, Jan. 29 in the cafeteria during all 5 lunches. 

Students, male and female, interested in becoming a member of the Iron Lions Powerlifting Club, learning the sport of powerlifting and competing in two USA competitions should stop by the weight room by Wednesday, Jan. 31 to see Coach J. Davis.

Beta Club is collecting shoeboxes that are gently used or in new condition for a family assistance project.  Drop off shoeboxes in Madame Lekkou's room, A203.

1st Annual Winter Madness Football Conditioning meets Monday-Thursday at 4:00 PM in the weight room. See Coach Wiltz or Coach J. Davis.

The 2018 Prom will be held May 5th at the Fernbank Natural History Museum.  This year's theme is Glitz, Glam & Gatsby.  Purchase tickets before Feb. 16th and save!  See Ms. Kellett in B110.

Friday, Feb. 2 is National Wear Red Day for the American Heart Association.  Students who wear red have the opportunity to place their name in the drawing for prizes.  See a HOSA member in the cafeteria during all five lunches.

Thespian Troupe meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 1 from 3:50-4:20 in C101.  All inducted Thespians are required to attend.  Theatre students who are interested in joining are welcome to attend.

Spanish Honor Society is sponsoring a pinata raffle.  For a $1.00 donation students can win 200 pieces of candy.  The drawing will be held on Jan. 31 in the cafeteria at 12:15.

FLO is collecting blankets for those in need.  Drop off new or gently used blankets OR leave the name of someone who needs a blanket with Ms. Gittens in H102.

Students traveling to France/Italy with Mr. Isham must attend a mandatory meeting on Jan. 30 or Jan. 31 at 5:30 in Mr. Isham's room, A204.

Seniors:  The deadline to order and pay for senior t-shirts has been extended until January 26.  See Ms. Farmer in B210.

Science & Engineering Fair has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 22 at the Murray Educational Center.

Boys and girls Tennis tryouts will be Feb. 1st and 2nd from 4:00-5:15 on the tennis courts. Students must have a current physical on file to tryout.  See Coach Sandlin with any questions. 

The Chess Tournament has been re-scheduled for Jan. 27th. Information is posted on the Turner Middle School website. Registration will remain open until Thursday, Jan. 25th. For those already registered, it is not necessary to register again.  See Mr. Couch in the art room if there are questions.

Students traveling to France/Italy with Mr. Isham should attend an information meeting on Jan. 30 or Jan. 31 at 5:30 PM in Mr. Isham's room, A204.

Lions basketball teams play Riverwood with tip-off at 6:00 PM.

PROM will be held on May 5 at the Fernbank Natural History Museum. This year's theme is Glitz, Glam & Gatsby. Purchase tickets early as ticket prices will increase on Feb. 167  See Ms. Kellett in B110 to purchase tickets or for questions.  For additional details, see the prom flyer.

Soccer tryouts for boys and girls teams begin Tuesday, Jan. 16th and continue through Friday, Jan. 19th. Students must be academically eligible with a current physical completely filled out. Be seated in the bleachers by 4:00pm – tryouts will end at 5:55 each day so please have transportation. See Coach Williams in A-110 with questions. 

Baseball tryouts will begin Jan. 16th at 4:00 on the baseball field. Students must have a valid physical on file at school and the proper baseball attire. Players will need to bring a check for a deposit for the season. For questions, see Coach Sheperd in the New Gym.

Last day to purchase SENIOR T-SHIRTS is Friday, Jan. 12th. Price is $18, cash only, from Ms. Farmer in B210.

Seniors:  Jostens will be in the cafeteria during all lunch classes on January 10.

Lion's Roar and congratulations to the following athletes on our football team! Marzavion D. was selected to the Class 5-A Football 1st Team All-State and the Region 6-AAAAA 1st Team. James W. was selected to the 1st Team All-Region. Davyon D. was selected to the 2nd Team All-Region. Cory M. and David O. were selected for offensive line honors.
