Education

Mr. Isham received his B.A in French and a Minor in English Literature from the University of Kentucky in 1991.  In 2000, after many years as a missionary, Mr. Isham came into teaching through tutoring homeschool students.  His full-time teaching experience began at Eagle's Nest Homeschool Co-op(ENCHEA) in Newnan, Ga.  Having a taught many subjects there, he moved on and taught 2 years in private schools, Landmark Christian in Fairburn and Heritage Christian in Newnan. 

Seeing a desire to broaden his depth of teaching lead him to seek his certification at the University of West Georgia, which he completed in 2008.  Whereupon completion, Mr. Isham began teaching in Douglas County at Yeager Middle School.  He taught there until May of 2014.

In July 2013, Mr. Isham earned his Master's in French Education (3.7 GPA) from the University of  West Georgia

Mr. Isham comes to Lithia Springs with a wealth of cultural educational experiences, which he brings to his classroom.   He speaks French, Italian and some Spanish.

 



Bio

Mr. Isham was born in Marion County, Kentucky and was raised in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.  During his childhood, Mr. Isham went with his father, a blacksmith to horse farms.  This experience exposed him to the multi-cultural, multi-racial and diverse socio-economic status that is the Horse culture in Kentucky.  He was hooked on learning languages, about diverse people and cultures from an early age. 

After having  graduated from High School and college, the University of Kentucky (Go CATS!), Mr. Isham spent 7 years as a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ.  It was there that he met many diverse cultures and people from around  the world, using his French degree to translate documents, and speak to many people around the world. 

It was during his time there in Orlando, Fl where he also met his bride of 18 years, Ruth Isham. 

Mr. and Mrs. Isham moved to Georgia in 1998 and have lived in the Newnan area since 2001.  They have 3 teenaged children, ages 19, 18, and 16.

He earned his Master's Degree in French Education in 2013, and is also certified in MS Reading and ESOL

 

MR. ISHAM IS HAPPY TO TUTOR STUDENTS.  HIS TUTORING HOURS ARE FRIDAY AFTERNOONS 4:00-5:00 PM AND BY APPT.
