Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from the University of Georgia

M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision from University of West Georgia

B.A.  in English/Education from Clark Atlanta University

My experience in education began in the 70s where I served as an English teacher in Polk County, Georgia at Cedartown High School. I then traveled to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and taught English at Boyd Anderson High School for 7 years. I had an opportunity to return to Polk County to serve as the county's curriculum director and elementary principal.

I wanted to experience a different venue in working with teachers and thus accepted a position as a National Consultant for textbook publishing. For almost 20 years I worked with two major publishing companies, McGraw-Hill and McDougal Littell, delivering professional development and training.

Following my journey in publishing, I  decided to return to the classroom as an assistant professor at Brenau University. While there I  began work on my Ph.D. and enrolled into the Unversity of Georgia.

Most recently I worked as the Literacy Coach for Polk County's middle schools.

Today I continue working with Brenau Universtiy as an adjunct (part-time) professor.
