About Mrs. Keisha Sheriff

I am a seventh year teacher at Lithia Spring High School. I graduated Kappa Delta Pi from Georgia State University with a masters in Mathematics Education. I obtained my bachelors degree in Political Science at Hunter College in New York. It was at Hunter College where I first fell in love with teaching. While at Hunter I worked as a college assistant with the Office for Students with Disabilities. It was there that I realized that through hard work and dedication one can achieve any goal. I am honored and humbled to know that I played a small role in helping these students achieve their goals. While at Hunter, I also served as a student leader and got a bill passed that allowed mothers on welfare to stay in college to fulfill their work requirements as opposed to doing menial tasks. As my interest in politics grew, I interned in the United States Senate, with the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan. As a former teacher in Douglas County, I co-wrote the Standards Based Report Card for Mathematics 2. While in Clayton County Public Schools I was lead teacher for four years and also served as a supervising teacher for a student teacher. I received the following accolades: Focus School Achievement and Top High School mathematics teacher for integrating technology. I am committed to education, and it is my personal goal to help students develop the confidence and skills they need to master mathematics.
